Dimitri van den Bergh and Daryl Gurney qualified for the second round of this Euro Tour event while Richard Veenstra also secured a spot in the last 32 at the
International Darts Open on Friday afternoon.
Veenstra fell behind 0-2 at the start of his match against Andrew Gilding, but a 121 finish and 12-darter repaired the damage. A 10-darter gave Gilding another 4-3 lead, but with a 101 check-out, and a 16-darter, Veenstra then took over the lead.
With a 14-darter in the tenth leg, "Flyers" then secured the victory. A duel with Dave Chisnall in the second round of the International Darts Open awaits him on Saturday.
Van den Bergh was clearly a size too big for Czech qualifier Alexander Masek. An average of 94 and a finishing percentage of 35 percent was enough for Van den Bergh to win the duel 6-2. 'The Dreammaker' will be Danny Noppert's opponent in the last 32 at this tournament.
Gurney did not even concede a leg at all in his match against Patrick Klingelhoefer. The German threw only 75 average and did not get an arrow on the double against Gurney. 'Superchin' forced a clash with Ryan Searle with his whitewash victory.
