Dimitri van den Bergh sees off housemate Damon Heta to book Masters semi-final against Michael van Gerwen

Dimitri van den Bergh will face Michael van Gerwen in the second semi-final at the 2024 Masters after the Belgian took down his housemate, Damon Heta to continue his quiet rise back into form to begin 2024.
Not weighed down by Premier League commitments this year, it could be a freer year for Van den Bergh without the glare of being part of the elite every week and he is into the semi-final albeit against a player who has a near flawless record against him. But against Heta, it was a 10-7 win as he won through despite hitting an 87 average.
Heta started brighter of the two smashing in a 143 checkout to move 2-1 up on Van den Bergh. But despite averaging just 82.7, the Belgian edged ahead 3-2 and kept his nose in front with a 114 checkout to go 4-2 up.
It was three legs on the spin from Heta, but Van den Bergh levelled up at 5-5 at the half-way stage to cancel out the momentum and post interval, he regained the upperhand hitting double 18 to open up a two-leg cushion at 8-6.
Two costly misses from Heta saw Van den Bergh go to the brink at 9-6 But Heta rallied with a 14-dart 68 checkout only for Van den Bergh to finally seal the deal hitting double 20 for the win.

- I completely agree with Vincent's comments on "whistlegate". It's great to have someone with Vincent's exprience address this issue, so hopefully clearer and stricter guidlelines can be given to referees, security and members of the crowd. No whistling during throws, and something like: whistlers evicted and fined a hefty sum.
