Chris Dobey has ended Raymond van Barneveld's resurgent run at the Players Championship Finals with a crushing 10-2 victory to continue his rise into his second major semi-final.
Before hand, Van Barneveld would have potentially have been the favourite but a poor performance from the Dutch legend saw Dobey take advantage and move through brilliantly.
Dobey started brilliantly and at the first interval he was 4-1 up despite an average of only 85 with him pouncing on multiple missed doubles from Barney in the early going.
Barney was at eight missed darts at double at that point but this was soon heightened up to 1/13 as he gave Dobey an easy 5-1 advantage.
Van Barneveld finally got off the mark again to trail 5-2 but was still at 2/20 on the doubles and with a huge mountain to climb.
This didn't get any easier with a 167 checkout from Dobey as well as a break of throw which saw him go towards the finishing line at 7-2 up.
At the next interval, it looked like Van Barneveld's time in Minehead was coming to an end with him at 10 percent of his doubles and Dobey 8-2 up.
This was right and Dobey surged to a brilliant victory which wasn't high standard but he did his job when he had to.
