Chris Dobey is into the Quarter-Finals of the
World Grand Prix after sudden death drama defeating Adrian Lewis in a 3-2 sets win.
Dobey took out 100 in the deciding leg after one missed match dart from Lewis and 'Hollywood' will now face Michael van Gerwen or Stephen Bunting next up.
Lewis was well ahead in the opening leg and pinned double five to break and lead. A 60 checkout saw the lead doubled as Dobey struggled to get in and he was soon a set down as ‘Jackpot’s dream start continued.
‘Jackpot’ continued his march on return pinning double two to hold. Dobey finally got on the board with a shake of the head as he levelled up and broke throw to go one away from levelling up in sets which he sealed on double eight.
Dobey continued his roll by hitting double 16 to go 1-0 up in the third set. But Lewis responded with a 126 checkout to make it 1-1 and he made it 2-1 with a 52 checkout.
Lewis missed two darts for the set and Dobey pulled out a 111 checkout and pinned double four for a 2-1 sets lead.
‘Jackpot’ opened a pivotal set on double 10 to hold. Dobey levelled up on double eight knocking it in off the flight. Lewis hit a 120 checkout to hold and went one away from sending it to a decider.
Dobey hit double 20 to send it to a decider. Lewis missed 111 but returned with Dobey unable to get a shot at 170 and it was 2-2 in sets.
Dobey missed 154 to hold but returned to pin double five with Lewis only able to pressure with a 180.
Dobey missed 122 on the bull but returned with Lewis missing 74 only to miss two darts and ‘Jackpot’ made it 1-1. But Dobey recovered from a poor start to go one away.
Lewis missed a dart from 70 to send it all the way but Dobey missed two match darts and ‘Jackpot’ returned to send it all the way.
Dobey started with 146 with Lewis unable to get off. But with Dobey unable to produce the scoring, Lewis hit a 180 to leave 78. Lewis missed the bull for the match and Dobey returned for a 100 checkout.
