Dolan edged past William O'Connor as he plays his first darts since winning his first PDC ranking title in a number of years. He only hit an average in the mid 80's but that is all he needed with O'Connor averaging similar.
In the end it was a 6-4 win for 'The History Maker' who moves through to the second day of action in Vienna
James Wilson was more impressive in seeing off Irishman, Gavin Carlin. He saw him off in a 6-2 win and hit 50 percent on the doubles with a high checkout of 158.
His scoring wasn't there which is what you can usually count on with Wilson with only two 180's but his doubling was brilliant which brought him the win.
