Brendan Dolan displays a change of throwing style in victory over new fans' favourite Edward Foulkes! A good win for the 47-year-old
Brendan Dolan is through to the Third Round at the 2020/21 PDC World Darts Championship after ending the run of debutant Edward Foulkes.
Dolan exhibited a new faster throwing style and came through in a 3-1 win in a good win for 'The History Maker'.
Dolan produced a blistering start to proceedings claiming the opening set without reply with a 105 checkout while averaging a superb 104.8.
But this couldn't continue with Foulkes claiming the second set by holding his nerve in a deciding leg as he looked to mount a fightback.
Dolan missed darts for a 2-1 lead overall and Foulkes pinned double four to go 2-2 in legs and force a decider. But it was the Japanese ace's turn to miss darts and Dolan pinned double four to go into a 2-1 set lead.
To finish the tie, it was a lot more comprehensive for Dolan as he claimed it 3-0 with double 20 to move through.
Brendan Dolan (90.57) 3-1 (84) Edward Foulkes (R2) (3-0, 2-3, 3-2, 3-0)
