It was the battle of the scoring machines in the third game of the evening as Anderson took on Chisnall. It was a slow start as the Scotsman held in the first leg with a 20 dart leg ending on tops. Chisnall levelled proceedings in the next leg whilst 'The Flying Scotsman' eventually found double two to regain his lead.
Two missed doubles from 'Chizzy' allowed the two-time world champion to pinch a break with tops. The St. Helens thrower broke back with a 37 finish after Anderson missed bull for a 170.
The breaks continued as he moved two clear hitting tops again. Anderson rolled off two more legs before he hit seven perfect darts, almost bringing £50,000 to the crowd. He ended that leg with his second double 2 of the match. Chisnall halted Anderson’s momentum briefly to muster a leg and sit 7-3 behind at the break.
Normality resumed after the break as Anderson hit double 16 to move two from victory. 'The Flying Scotsman' deepened Chisnall’s misery with an 87 finish on double 18 to move one leg from the finish line. The twice World Champion ended the match in style with a classy 125 finish, 25, treble 20, tops to sink Chisnall.
