It is double Dutch delight in Amsterdam as Dirk van Duijvenbode and Niels Zonneveld moving into the second round at the World Series of Darts Finals.
Van Duijvenbode averaged 99 with 55% on the doubles as he surged past compatriot, Jeffrey de Zwaan who showed some glimpses of old form but to no avail.
It was a dismal opening two legs for De Zwaan who suffered a break of throw and was way back as Van Duijvenbode pinned a 13-darter. It was a 93 average for 'The Titan' while 'The Black Cobra' was down at 68.
He looked to ignite though with a brilliant 170 checkout from nowhere.
Van Duijvenbode missed 76 for a hold but De Zwaan couldn't force a 107 and 'The Titan' returned for a 3-1 lead.
The Dutch duo delighted as De Zwaan hit back-to-back 180's and Van Duijvenbode nearly hit the same only to drift into a single five.
De Zwaan returned for an 11-darter though in a further confidence boost making it 3-2 at the break to Van Duijvenbode.
A 14-darter with treble 19 followed by the same double to make it 4-2 saw him reestablish his lead. A break on double eight saw Van Duijvenbode go one away.
He pinned the same target to complete the feat and he will now face Gerwyn Price.
While Niels Zonneveld sent Dave Chisnall packing before that in a 6-3 win with the Dutch prospect showing his emotion on stage post match.
Zonneveld edged the battle early on going into the interval at 3-2 up with Chisnall remaining at striking distance.
But a scrappy leg which finished on double two for Zonneveld saw him go 4-2 and claim the impetus. He left 85 with two bullseyes after a single 20 and pinned it on double 20.
Match dart came Zonneveld's way following that after going treble 18, double 20 before missing double 10 but 61 was not pinned by Chisnall and the Dutchman claimed it on double 10.
