Double Dutch domination as Van Trijp and Nentjes dump out Henderson and Rock in whitewash wins at German Darts Open

The evening session has began at the German Darts Open with Double Dutch domination so far on the menu as Danny van Trijp and Geert Nentjes moved through in emphatic whitewash wins in Jena.

Van Trijp who could yet find himself on the PDC ProTour next season sitting second in the Order of Merit behind runaway leader, Scott Williams showed his class by easing past John Henderson 6-0 who himself could lose his spot on the tour this season.

It was a 92 average for Van Trijp who hit 46% on the outer ring. He broke through in the second leg after a 140 and 171 back to back pinning double 12 for a 14-darter with Henderson only pressuring.

This was consolidated with Henderson unable to take out 80, Van Trijp pinned the target that 'The Highlander' missed in double 20 to go 3-0 up. From there, Henderson didn't get any further opportunities on doubles as poor starts to legs were pounced upon by the Dutchman who sealed the deal. Next now is Martin Schindler tomorrow.

While for Nentjes, his next opponent is Krzysztof Ratajski who has been poor as of late so could herald a good run for the Urk native who breezed his way past in-form Josh Rock in another emphatic whitewash win.

Nentjes produced a 98 average and was deadly on his doubles pinning 60% with two ton plus checkouts in 116 and 125 including the latter to win it. Compared to recent form, it was out of sorts for 'Rocky' who missed all six darts at double averaging 89 but struggling on the outer ring as the Dutchman flourished.
