Double Scottish disappointment as Andy Hamilton and Richard Eirig-Rowlands knock John Henderson and Robert Thornton out in Blackpool

Andy Hamilton and Richard Eirig-Rowlands joined Richie Howson and Martin Adams in qualifying for the semifinals of the World Seniors Champion of Champions. The semifinals and finals are on Sunday.

Hamilton managed a handsome victory over senior world champion John Henderson, who had won over 'The Hammer' as recently as February at the World Seniors Darts Championship. The tough Englishman laid the foundation for his victory midway through the match.

After a 4-4 lead, Hamilton took four legs in a row, including an 11-darter and a 64 finish. With two 12-darters Henderson narrowed the gap to 9-8, but Hamilton then decided the match with a 17-darter.

Robert Thornton next looked to be Hamilton's opponent in the semifinals. However, the Scot squandered a 9-5 lead against Eirig-Rowlands. In the sixteenth and seventeenth leg, 'The Thorn' left six match darts unused. Rowlands came back to 9-8 and then finished it off with a 14-darter and a 63 finish.
