The field of participants for the Nordic Darts Masters consists of sixteen players. Eight PDC top players will take on eight players from the Nordic region in the first round. Unfortunately for Danish fans, Michael van Gerwen and Luke Littler have chosen not to travel to Denmark. They have chosen to go on holiday for a week.
Defending champion at the Nordic Darts Masters is Peter Wright. The two-time world champion will take on Sweden's Johan Engstrom in the first round. 'Snakebite' has got reigning world champion Luke Humphries in his section of the draw. 'Cool Hand Luke' himself meets Danish Tour Card holder Benjamin Drue Reus in his opening match.
Leading the seeds are Gerwyn Price. 'The Iceman' has a formidable opponent in Madars Razma. Dimitri van den Bergh will cross swords with Dennis Nilsson. US Darts Masters champion Rob Cross will face Jeffrey de Graaf. In December, De Graaf lost to Cross in the third round of the World Darts Championship.
If the Swedish Dutchman does manage to win from 'Voltage' now, Stephen Bunting or Daniel Larsson will await in the second round. Nathan Aspinall was paired with Marko Kantele in the draw, while Michael Smith faces Paavo Myller.
The first round will be played in its entirety on Friday, June 7. The eight winners of the first round will advance to the final day. On Saturday, June 8, the quarterfinals, semifinals and finals will be played consecutively.
