The Euro Tour rankings include players' performances at the 13 Euro Tour tournaments in 2024. The top-32 of the PDC European Tour Order of Merit received an invitation to the European Championship.
During the last Euro Tour tournament of the season there were no more changes in the field of participants. A few players were very close to participating in Dortmund, but Cameron Menzies (first round eliminated), Niels Zonneveld (semifinalist) and Kim Huybrechts (losing finalist) were all one win away from qualifying for the final tournament. This allowed Dirk van Duijvenbode to breathe a sigh of relief, as the former World Grand Prix finalist occupied the last qualifying spot.
Martin Schindler though who is top seed is Van Duijvenbode's opponent in the first round of the European Darts Championship, who leads the ranking after two Euro Tour titles.
The draw for the first round also produced some absolute crackers. Dave Chisnall meets former world champion Michael Smith, while Stephen Bunting faces Gary Anderson. Reigning world champion Luke Humphries opens against two-time major winner Nathan Aspinall, and Rob Cross faces off with James Wade.
While other big names such as Luke Littler faces Andrew Gilding and Michael van Gerwen takes on Gabriel Clemens.
