The latest stop on the
European Tour calendar brings the PDC to Switzerland this weekend, with the 2025
Swiss Darts Trophy getting underway on Friday. With several of the sport’s leading names on the hunt for Euro Tour glory, the draw has thrown up some fascinating contests for knowledgeable fans to keep an eye on. See it in full right here!
Luke Humphries, the world number one, will begin against either Connor Scutt or Callan Rydz. While Humphries has been one of the most consistent players across the circuit this year, 'Cool Hand Luke' will be keen to make a statement in Zurich with the likes of Luke Littler and Michael van Gerwen absent from the field.
Josh Rock has been steadily progressing in 2025 and enters against either Jermaine Wattimena or a Host Nation Qualifier. Rock’s heavy scoring game makes him one of the standout names in this draw, and his recent form has marked him out as one of the most dangerous players in the entirety of the PDC.
Elsewhere, Jonny Clayton faces a potentially testing opener against either Nathan Aspinall or Andreas Toft Jørgensen. With Aspinall in particular posing a high-profile threat, Clayton may find himself in one of the standout ties of round two. For Peter Wright, the challenge will come from either Andrew Gilding or Cor Dekker. Wright has endured a disappointing year, with his potential qualification for the upcoming World Grand Prix at risk should he fall early in Zurich.
Stephen Bunting, will meet either Chris Landman or a Host Nation Qualifier. Chris Dobey is set for a clash with either Mensur Suljovic or Martin Lukeman, both capable of springing an upset, while former major champions Rob Cross and James Wade also await tough round two opponents depending on Friday’s results. Damon Heta, meanwhile, opens against either Raymond van Barneveld or a Host Nation Qualifier in what promises to be another marquee tie.
With the likes of Littler and Van Gerwen not in the field this weekend, the opportunity is wide open for rivals to press their claims. The blend of established stars, in-form challengers, and local hopefuls should provide another competitive European Tour weekend in Switzerland.
