Danny Noppert and
Dirk van Duijvenbode have continued their excellent start to the 2022
World Cup of Darts by breezing past former finalists Republic of Ireland in William O'Connor and Steve Lennon.
Next they will face Northern Ireland tomorrow after two brilliant displays from the duo who continue to prove themselves in the absence of Michael van Gerwen.
Noppert showed a sign of things to come as the UK Open champion led the team to begin the tie against William O'Connor powering past 'The Magpie' 4-1 with five 180's en route.
Three of them came in a row for Noppert at a pivotal time as he went 2-1 up with a break of throw and sealed another break in the process with a 43 checkout.
But 'Scuba Steve' Lennon was in deep waters as he aimed to secure the doubles decider and Van Duijvenbode smashed through to the final day with a 4-1 win hitting an incredible 110 average, four 180's and 4/5 on the doubles.
He charged into a 3-1 lead with a break of throw in the form of a 45 checkout averaging 110 at the time and he maintained that with a 50 checkout for a 12-darter on double eight. No Van Gerwen, no problem for the Netherlands.
