Northern Ireland was the first country to qualify for the quarterfinals at the
World Cup of Darts.
Daryl Gurney and
Brendan Dolan had enough in the singles against New Zealand.
Gurney won in the first singles tie 4-2 against Ben Robb. Dolan then fell behind 0-2 against Warren Parry, but came back to 2-2 thanks to a 68 finish. With a 107 check-out and a 13-darter, Dolan eased past his experienced opponent.
Sunday afternoon in the Quarter-Finals, they will face potentially Netherlands in Danny Noppert and Dirk van Duijvenbode who have to beat William O'Connor and Steve Lennon from Ireland first.
