Edhouse edges past Henderson, Neyens eases past Negrette to set up Humphries clash

Ritchie Edhouse and Kenny Neyens are through to the second round tomorrow at the Gibraltar Darts Trophy after sealing victories on Friday afternoon.

Edhouse edged past John Henderson in a 6-4 win in another dent to the 'Highlander's aspirations of keeping his Tour Card as he will miss the European Championship albeit he needed a deep run to seal it.

'Madhouse' is through after a high checkout of 152 though as well as an 87 average, two 180's and 40% on his doubles. That 152 was to seal an opening break which was taken back by Henderson as he went 3-2 up but Edhouse held throw and broke to go 4-3 up.

From there, Henderson held to make it 5-4 with a 78 checkout but well in front, Edhouse hit a 15-darter to claim the win.

While it is only Craig Galliano currently who is through from the Gibraltar contingent as Sean Negrette bowed out in a 6-1 defeat to Neyens.

Neyens himself played poorly averaging only 76 with three 180's but missing 21 darts at double but the Host Nation Qualifier himself hit a 66 average meaning he only saw one dart at a double throughout the whole contest which he pinned and allowed easy progression. He will now play Luke Humphries next up.
