David Evans is set for his debut on the PDC ProTour
as a fully fledged Tour Card holder in 2021 after winning this year's PDC
Challenge Tour.
Evans was one of the most active darts players during lockdown with
'Stretch' who is a former BDO World Championship Quarter-Finalist showing his
class on the MODUS Icons of Darts League.
As a result with the truncated Challenge Tour season, Evans was always
going to be a danger coming into this weekend and he showed that with two event
wins.
The Tyldesley ace will also make his debut at the
PDC World Championship after finishing top of the Order of Merit.
Joining him in winning a Tour Card was Ritchie
Edhouse who was denied by Kevin Doets in the final of Event Ten. Being denied
saw Evans handed the World Championship spot with it going down to the wire.
But for ‘Madhouse’, it will be a welcome return
to the tour after a weekend which saw him through with an event win and final.
Keane Barry finished third in the Challenge
Tour Order of Merit after finishing second in the Development Tour.
Damian Mol would have got a second opportunity
at a Tour Card if not for Edhouse’s run with Barry taking the Challenge Tour
one.
Matthew Dennant and Scott Mitchell were leading
for most of the weekend but will now have to head to Q-School with ‘Scotty Dog’
not able to replicate his form of the start of the year.
The same can be said for Rob Collins who was
second to start the weekend but fell to seventh with Jim Williams also jumping
into 6th.
