HUMPHRIES CLINCHES IT! Luke Humphries breaks Justin Pipe's throw in a deciding leg as he keeps his knockout stage hopes alive with a 5-4 victory! #BoyleSportsGSOD
The action has began on Day Two of the Grand Slam of Darts with two ties going all the way to start proceedings off with Ricky Evans and Luke Humphries coming through.
Evans reeled off four consecutive legs from 3-1 to down to deny Wayne Warren, the current BDO World Champion victory after his poor display to open up the tournament yesterday.
The Kettering ace led after Warren squandered six darts at doubles, this allowed Evans to go into the lead but Warren broke taking out 71 to go 2-1 up. Evans missed a dart at double 16 and Warren went two clear from there.
But Evans claimed successive legs from there correcting his misses and taking out 110 to break back for 3-3 which was a pivotal moment as he went on to make it four legs in a row and claimed the win 5-3.
While Humphries survived one match dart from Justin Pipe on the bull to close out a deciding leg victory to get off the mark in Group D.
He got off the mark and went 2-0 up and Pipe halved the deficit to make it 3-1 and came back to pounce on missed darts at doubles to make it 3-3.
Pipe went to within one leg of the match at 4-3 but Humphries sent it all the way before the aforementioned dramatic final leg.
