Beau Greaves caused a sensation earlier this week at the PDC
World Youth Championship. The 21-year-old Englishwoman pulled off a shock victory in the semi-finals, edging out the seemingly unbeatable Luke Littler 6โ5. She will now face Gian van Veen in the final, which takes place during the Players Championship Finals on Sunday, 23 November.
Greaves has already made a strong impression this year on both the
Development Tour and Challenge Tour, having secured tournament wins on both circuits. She finished second in the overall Development Tour rankings, earning herself a coveted PDC Tour Card for the next two years.
In addition, Greaves holds a commanding lead in the PDC
Women's Series standings. โSheโs an absolutely phenomenal player,โ
said Sky Sports analyst Michael Bridge. โShe's so good. Her, alongside Fallon Sherrock and Lisa Ashton have dominated women's darts. But, she is now going to be part of the PDC Tour, she has a two-year Tour Card after topping the Development Tour Order of Merit!"
Will Greaves Accept Her PDC Tour Card?
The key question now is whether Greaves will accept her PDC Tour Card. โNow, she hasn't accepted it yet, but we think she probably will,โ Bridge continued. โWe're also hoping to see her at the Alexandra Palace because she topped the Women's Series Order of Merit. She hasn't featured the last couple of years because she's played in the WDF and those too. But I would expect her to accept the invitation to play this year, at the Alexandra Palace."
Greaves is also set to feature at the upcoming Grand Slam of Darts, a place where she has starred over the last couple of years, firstly pushing Damon Heta and Nathan Aspinall on debut, and then securing her first win on the Wolverhampton stage in 2024. โTo say she's the future, she's the now!" Bridge concludes. "An absolutely phenomenal player."
