Field for 2020 World Grand Prix confirmed

The 32 player field for the World Grand Prix has been confirmed after the conclusion of the German Darts Championship which acted as the cut off for the event.
The prestigious double start event will not be played at its usual home of the Citywest in Dublin with focus shifting to the Ricoh Arena in Coventry for the first time from October 6-12.
The top 16 players from the PDC Order of Merit which are headed up by eight seeds including Michael van Gerwen, the defending champion. As well as World Champion, Peter Wright and two time Grand Slam champion Gerwyn Price.
Non-seeds in this Order of Merit include Gary Anderson, Dimitri van den Bergh and Glen Durrant with Adrian Lewis rounding out the top 16 after gaining a reprieve due to Devon Petersen winning the German Darts Championship on Sunday night.
Petersen as a result of that win has launched himself into 17th and number one from the ProTour Order of Merit with 16 in all coming from those positions.
Lots of debutants will be involved in Coventry with 'The African Warrior' one of the main ones. These also include Jose de Sousa, Ryan Searle, Gabriel Clemens, Ryan Joyce and Dirk van Duijvenbode, all have either won titles this year for the first time or produced consistent form on the tour to get into this position.
