The draw for the 2024 Swiss Darts Trophy has now been confirmed and there are some very intriguing clashes in the first round!

For example, two-time world champion Peter Wright gets his tournament underway in the first round against Dutchman, Richard Veenstra. If 'Snakebite' can continue his recent resurgence against Veenstra, a tantalising tie in round 2 would await against the current world champion and world number one, Luke Humphries. 

Elsewhere, well-known darting stars Raymond van Barneveld and Joe Cullen do battle in the opening round. The victor of the Van Barneveld and Cullen tie is then rewarded with a showdown against Ricardo Pietreczko, who had to withdraw from the Hungarian Darts Trophy last week with an injury. This week Pietreczko did compete at the Pro Tours in Leicester, but was unable to break even, posting an average of just 68. So there are good chances for either Van Barneveld or Cullen to at least reach the final day in Basel.

Notably, Luke Littler faces the winner of the Krzysztof Ratajski/Host Nation Qualifier 2 tie and Gerwyn Price has a battle against either Dimitri Van den Bergh or James Wade to look forward to. See the full draw below!

This is the first time the PDC has hosted a tournament in Switzerland. Earlier this year, Euro Tour tournaments were played in Belgium, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and Hungary. Later this year, another event will be completed in the Czech Republic.
