Michael van Gerwen has been handed a tough draw for the World Series of Darts Finals, the tournament taking place from Friday, Sept. 13 to Sunday, Sept. 15 at the AFAS Live in Amsterdam.

Van Gerwen was paired with Jonny Clayton in the draw. Moreover, 'Mighty Mike' ended up in a tough half of the bracket. If he wins over Clayton, Van Gerwen will play the winner of the duel between Danny Noppert and Gian van Veen. In the quarterfinals, a duel with world champion Luke Humphries beckons, while Luke Littler is a potential opponent in the semifinals. Humphries begins his tournament against Haupai Puha, and Littler meets outsider Ross Smith.
Elsewhere, Luke Littler has a showdown with former European Championship winner Ross Smith. Luke Humphries faces the only Kiwi Tour Card holder Hauphai Puha, Gerwyn Price has the in form Cameron Menzies and Peter Wright will take on Dave Chisnall among other exciting ties.
The World Series of Darts Finals will be played for the tenth time this year. Van Gerwen won five of the previous nine editions. James Wade, Gerwyn Price (2x) and Jonny Clayton are the other former winners.
