It was a swift return to the tour for Chris Landman, who sealed his spot among the 128 players with a Tour Card on day four of European Q-School 2026.
There was only a handful of Tour Cards on offer to 128 players who turned up to compete in the final stage of Q-School. The 44-year-old was among the darters who was looking to get straight back onto the tour, but experience bares no difference when competing at the ruthless tournament that is Q-School.
"Very tough week," he admitted in his interview after securing his place on the tour with 10 points earned, placing him second in the European Q-School final stage Order of Merit. "I played very well, I won one game then two games and yesterday I got a quarter-final."
This last-eight defeat was to the WDF World Championship winner Jimmy van Schie. Landman acknowledged his fellow Dutchman was better, but was happy to return the next day and get the job done. " I think win one or two games today and it is good but today was also tough, always 6-5," he exclaimed after a round-of-16 defeat to Jurjen van der Velde.
It is an instant return to the tour for Landman, who could not keep his tour privileges at the PDC World Darts Championship after losing out to eventual semi-finalist Ryan Searle. However, he has responded in the perfect fashion in Kalkar.
"Very happy. First I said 'ok if I don't get it, it's not too bad' but I want to get it very fast. And now I'm very happy again. We can go for the tour again," he said with a huge smile.
He joins a number of Dutchman who will be regularly featuring on the tour. Some of his fellow compatriots to collect a Tour Card include van Schie, Jeffrey de Zwaan, and Jurjen van der Velde among others. 'The Countryman' will be hoping to keep this one for good.
