Florian Hempel achieves a slice of PDC history in hitting nine-dart finish during European Tour Qualifier

Yesterday Florian Hempel reached the semi-finals of the Players Championship 17, today he proved his class in the Tour Card Holder Qualifier for the Hungarian Darts Trophy: In a 6-4 win over Jeffrey Sparidaans Hempel managed a 9-darter to win the match.

Hempel, who took the game at 3-3 with a 13-darter and a 15-darter, began the last leg of the match at 5-4 with two 180 scores. The 34-year-old rounded off the perfect leg with a traditional 141 finish.

It also achieved PDC history as he achieved perfection breaking a new record in the process. It is a 500th nine-dart finish in PDC competition over the years and it is Hempel that has achieved the feat.

That compiles not only this qualifier but also TV Events, ProTour, Euro Tour, Challenge Tour and Development Tour.
