James Wade finally sealed his first Premier League Darts night win of the season and for 'The Machine', he sees prior final defeats as being nights where he wasn't good enough instead of near misses.
"It's not been long deserved as I didn't put myself in a good enough position but I've put myself in four finals so it's more than some people so positives," he said post final.
After losing three finals in three weeks, he sees it more as a positive as he finally got over the line in Manchester.
"Negativity breeds that and I don't breed negativity, I breed positivity because I've been here so long. I'm playing well and I'm playing against the best eight players in the world which is an honour for me."
In terms of getting to his top level, it is a side of the game Wade doesn't believe in.
"I get nervous every time but I'm glad to be here. I'm not relaxed, I'm so nervous up there it's unreal. I'm kind of enjoying it in a sick way."
"If every darts player plays their best game, they will average 120-125, it doesn't happen. I feel like the game is focused by certain people on certain players and if it was focused on certain people on games, we'd all shine like a star."
