Michael van Gerwen continued his trend of following up a run to at least the final in the Premier League Darts by going out first round which means his lead was cut in Manchester.
Van Gerwen lost to Jonny Clayton who now sits second by just a point. The Welshman, in turn, lost to Joe Cullen in the semi-final.
James Wade won the evening in Manchester and is therefore the new number three with eighteen points. That is as many as Peter Wright, but the Scot has an inferior leg difference.
Cullen is in fifth place with fifteen points, while Gerwyn Price is four points behind. Michael Smith (eight points) and Gary Anderson (seven points) will have to work hard to have a chance at the play-offs.
