It is a second title of the season for Aussie ace
Damon Heta as he sealed
Players Championship 18 defeating
Ryan Searle in the final 8-3 in an irresistible display from 'The Heat'.
Heta averaged 106 as he saw off the fellow ProTour high flier in a battle of two of the top names on the Players Championship circuit. But for Heta, it is more interesting this time around.
Given that he has only just got back to the UK after playing on the World Series in recent days. Unlike others that likely cite jet lag or wanting a holiday, Heta admitted post final that he is in for everything simply as he doesn't know how long he will play the game for.
He is very much wanting to make hay when the sunshines and he has done so today saying that the one that he misses would be the one that he would win. That decision was certainly vindicated as he looked superb against Searle and for most of the day.
He rode his luck against Cameron Menzies in the semi-finals sealing a 7-6 win with a 12 and 11 darter to break the heart of the Scot. Heta survived a deciding leg against Rowby-John Rodriguez (6-5) in the first round, but then recorded resounding victories over Keegan Brown (6-2), Niels Zonneveld (6-0), Callum Goffin (6-1) and Danny Noppert (6-1) for a spot in the semifinals before defeating Menzies.
