Gary Anderson will not be competing at the
German Darts Grand Prix this weekend. 'The Flying Scotsman' will have to miss the Euro Tour tournament in Munich due to a shoulder injury, Online Darts reported.
The Scot's injury came to light earlier in March when he was forced to concede during a Players Championship match. In a match against Martin Schindler, he indicated at a 3-3 interval that he could not continue playing because of pain in his shoulder.
Anderson has since undergone treatment on his shoulder, but the Euro Tour tournament over the Easter weekend comes too soon. It is also doubtful that Anderson will be able to compete in April in the next Players Championship tournaments on April 8 and 9.
Online Darts has learned that the shoulder injury is not serious and Anderson is expected to be match-fit within a few weeks. The two-time world champion has shown good form on the Pro Tour over the past year. In the past 12 months, Anderson claimed four ProTour tournaments to his name.
