Gerwyn Price jokes about boxing match with Jake Paul: "One punch, and it would be all over”

Gerwyn Price, former world darts champion and three-time Grand Slam winner, has suggested that he can knock out YouTube star and boxer Jake Paul with a single blow. The flamboyant Welshman, who recently launched his own YouTube channel, shared his thoughts on the matter in an interview with talkSPORT.

Price, also known as "The Iceman," has recently joined the growing group of darters with a YouTube channel, including Stephen Bunting. Speaking with talkSPORT, he was asked if he now considers himself an influencer.

“I’m definitely not an influencer. I get bored easily, as you can see. When I had time off at the back end of last year, I got bored. So when I’m away, I’m going to try and fill in my time and probably record a bit of the backstage stuff, behind the scenes.

“Giving a little bit back to the fans of what goes on behind the scenes because not everybody sees that, you know.”  

When the possibility of a boxing fight against Jake Paul came up on reaching 100,000 YouTube subscribers, Price responded with his characteristic confidence. “That’s easy. I look forward to that. He’s a YouTuber; he’s not a fighter, is he? I’ve got 999,000 followers to go.”

The suggestion that the fight take place at Cardiff's Principality Stadium added to Price's bravado. "He’ll never beat me in Wales. Nobody beats me in Wales. He’d probably beat Canelo (if they fought in Mexico), but he’s not beating me, no.”

Price has built his reputation as a strong athlete not only in darts. Before becoming one of the best darters in the world, he played professional rugby and represented Wales at various age levels. So his physical strength and competitive mentality are no surprise.

When asked what he would do to Paul in the boxing ring, Price gave a simple but powerful response. "

“I think it would just be one punch, and it would be all over.

“Out cold; it would be a waste of money for people to tune in.”
