Reaching a final on the PDC
Pro Tour nine years in a row is a major achievement. Yet that is exactly what
Gerwyn Price has delivered. Since 2018, the Welshman has reached at least one Pro Tour final every season. An unprecedented run of consistency at the highest level of professional darts.
Impressive streak continues
Price reached the final last Tuesday at the second
Players Championship of the year, where he lost 8-7 to Wessel Nijman. โThe Icemanโ thus extends an impressive streak. The statistics speak for themselves.
In 2018,
Price started with a title and a runner-up on the Pro Tour. A year later came four titles and another lost final. In 2020, the 40-year-old Welshman showed his true dominance with no fewer than five tournament victories and three second places. He stayed on track in 2021 with four titles and two lost finals.
In 2022, he added three titles to his rรฉsumรฉ, followed by another powerhouse 2023 in which he captured six Pro Tour titles and reached another final. Although 2024, with two lost finals, looked slightly less successful in terms of trophies, the constant remained: Price was there again. In 2025, another top year followed with five titles and two runner-up finishes. And in 2026, he kept the run going by reaching yet another final.
Over the full period from 2018 through 2026, that amounts to 50 Pro Tour finals, with 31 wins and 19 runner-up finishes. Those figures demonstrate not only consistency but also pure class and mental resilience.
The Pro Tour is known for its demanding and unpredictable nature. Floor events are often played at a rapid pace, without a crowd, where focus and scoring power are crucial. Thatโs exactly where Price has set himself apart for nearly a decade. While generations of players come and go, he keeps making finals.
Gerwyn Price is the current world number eleven
One of the most consistent and successful players
With nine consecutive years in which he has reached at least one final, Gerwyn Price underscores his status as one of the most consistent and successful players in modern darts. An achievement that further cements his place in the sportโs history.
Next Monday and Tuesday, Price will already have another shot at Pro Tour success, as Players Championship 3 and 4 are scheduled in Wigan. Later in the week, he will also compete at the Poland Darts Open, the first event of the 2026 European Tour.
In addition, the third match night of the
Premier League Darts is of course also on the agenda this Thursday.
