Gerwyn Price wins with 108 average against Peter Wright; Michael Smith takes advantage of rare Luke Humphries off-day

Michael Smith and Gerwyn Price have qualified for the semifinals in Manchester during the tenth round of Premier League Darts play. Later in the evening, the former world champions face each other in the second semifinal.

Smith managed to give Luke Humphries a leg up. The latter had an off-day and threw an average around 90 for much of the match. Smith, on the other hand, was very strong in his scoring and took a 5-1 lead thanks to two 14-darters and two 15-darters. Humphries then took two more legs before Smith decided the match with a 117 finish.

Then Peter Wright and Gerwyn Price faced each other, a duel between the numbers eight and seven in the rankings. However, the Scot and the Welshman played an excellent match. Wright threw an average of almost 110, but that proved not enough for victory.

An 11-darter and a 13-darter gave Price a 4-2 lead, but Wright broke back with a 111 checkout in the seventh leg. With an 11-darter, "Snakebite" then signed off for the 4-4.

The lead then went back to Price, who hit a 13-darter. With a 12-darter, "The Iceman" then won the match 6-4.
