The next major on the PDC calendar is the
Grand Slam of Darts. Michael van Gerwon has already won this tournament three times and is aiming for another title this year - his first since 2017. However, the 36-year-old Dutchman is currently still enjoying vacation.
Van Gerwen is having a difficult year, divorcing his wife Daphne and taking a short break in May and June. Still, it's not all doom and gloom for "Mighty Mike," as he won the German Darts Grand Prix in April and triumphed in front of his own crowd at the World Series of Darts Finals in mid-September.
In addition, Van Gerwen often acted particularly shaky. For example, he did not even manage to qualify for the Players Championship Finals for the first time in years. Van Gerwen even suited up for the final two tournaments last week because he had been planning a vacation for a while.
He is spending that vacation in Dubai, where, according to a post on Instagram, he is enjoying the peace and beautiful weather. Van Gerwen is preparing there for the upcoming Grand Slam of Darts, his last major before the start of the PDC World Darts Championship in December.

Van Gerwen, is joined by Luke Littler, Luke Humphries and Gerwyn Price as the leading lights who have qualified qualified for the Grand Slam of Darts. The draw will take place on Monday, November 3.
