Gian van Veen,
Nathan Aspinall and
Martin Schindler have qualified for the second round at the
German Darts Grand Prix in Munich on Saturday night.
For Van Veen it was a win against
Raymond van Barneveld. Van Barneveld broke his compatriot in the first leg, but then delivered his own leg as well. New breaks from both sides followed in the seventh and eighth legs, making it 4-4 after eight legs.
Van Veen then regained the lead with a 13-darter, before Van Barneveld forced a final leg with a 72 finish. The final leg was then a 13-darter win for Van Veen, who meets compatriot Danny Noppert in the second round.
Nathan Aspinall made it to the second round in Munich after a convincing 6-2 win over Michael Unterbuchner. Martin Schindler triumphed comfortably 6-1 against Vitezslav Sedlak and also returns Sunday for the second round.
