Andrew Gilding, Keane Barry and Danny Noppert are the next trio through to the Last 1`6 at the Dutch Darts Championship in Leeuwarden with three superb displays on Saturday afternoon.
Gilding hasn't produced a top level display since he won the UK Open in March but showed that it is still very much there with a high quality win over Ian White. Seeing off a resurgent 'Diamond' 6-4, he hit a 108.5 average and three ton plus checkouts.
This while staving off a fightback from White who came from 5-1 down with Gilding initially going one away with an 81 checkout for a 12-darter but eventually he got over the line on double 20 after White missed a dart to send it all the way.
While Barry sealed another win over Rob Cross. It is back-to-back wins as 'Dynamite' beats 'Voltage' with a 125 checkout using bull-25-bull among the highlights as well as a 140 checkout.
It was another special display from the young Irishman who produced a 101.5 average in a 6-3 win to move through.
Finally Noppert delighted the Dutch faithful with an imperious 6-1 rout with three 180's and a 96 average to see off Madars Razma. He will hope to go one better this year after losing out to Michael Smith in the 2022 final.
