Dirk van Duijvenbode is out at the
European Darts Grand Prix. 'Aubergenius' went down in the second round of the event in Sindelfingen against
Daryl Gurney.
Van Duijvenbode managed to make up a break deficit in the third leg, but was broken again in the following leg after a 58 finish by Gurney. The Northern Irishman did not give that lead away and 'Superchin' won 6-2.
This was a clinical win for Gurney who hit 6/10 on the outer ring to thrash the Dutchman as he looks to keep his World Cup of Darts spot in particular this weekend.
Damon Heta also reached the last sixteen of this Euro Tour tournament. His opponent Adam Smith-Neale managed to keep up with him in the first six legs, but then saw the victory go to the Australian 6-3 as he reeled off three consecutive legs to claim it.
This too also with a usual Damon Heta walk-on using bongos prior to his win over Smith-Neale as he again looked to endear himself to the crowd in Germany.
