Hamilton discusses mental health issues after Q-School: "The pressure cauldron forces some deep thoughts"

Andy Hamilton failed with his quest to return to the PDC ProTour this past week during Q-School and revealed he has been going through some issues as of late.

Hamilton said he is in a 'dark place' at the moment and that the Challenge Tour may yet come too soon for him but he will be back playing as soon as he feels he is able to.

''A really tough week in Milton Keynes. I'd like to apologise to all of my family, friends, fans and sponsors. I don't really know what happened but some things totally out of character. The pressure cauldron forces some deep thoughts and feelings to the forefront. Mentally in a dark place at the moment.''

''I've taken the first steps to addressing the reoccurring issue. The Challenge Tour may come too soon but as they say the best thing to do when you fall of the horse is to get back on. With the right support I will be playing as soon as I feel ready. Mental Health will not win.''
