Rodriguez on long wait to find out Tour Card fate at Q-School: "I went to bed because I couldn't watch it anymore"

Rowby-John Rodriguez claimed his Tour Card as the last spot on the European Q-School Order of Merit after Dragutin Horvat missed tons of match darts.

Rodriguez was the beneficiary of such luck but went to sleep after losing to Jimmy Hendriks due to the nerves, he said in an interview with the PDC.

"Today was hard. I knew I needed some points on the board and against Jimmy Hendriks, I knew I should win it, I should be more secure than I'm used to but I lost that game then afterwards it was nerve-wracking watching all the games so I went for food and after the Last Eight I went to bed because I couldn't watch it anymore. To be honest, I was unlucky after the World's, finishing 65th."

"Roxy-James (brother) came to my room and my management came to my room and jumped on me but my girlfriend already called me."

Despite having a stellar 2021, he is in a better place to deal with it now compared to last Q-School.

"Last year was hard because when I travelled here for the first few days I had a disc collapse again and some of the officials helped me out with some tablets but the last two years I was like okay if I don't get a Tour Card I'm not that disappointed. But after a year like what I had in 2021, I was coming here aiming for a Tour Card and I'm really happy."
