Andy Hamilton lost out to Michael van Gerwen on the final day of action at the International Darts Open in Riesa missing a match dart on the bull.
Hamilton though received criticism from Van Gerwen post match where he said he tried 'every trick' and it didn't work.
'The Hammer' tweeted after exiting the tournament and joked that he will have to remember his running shoes to play quicker next time he encounters the World Number One.
"Gutted today! Not a good enough performance! Was hitting everything on the practice board then nothing on stage! At least I fought my way to having a chance to cross the finish line," he said on Twitter.
