Hamilton withdraws from PDC Home Tour II Phase Two Group Five, replaced by Tabern

Andy Hamilton has withdrawn from PDC Home Tour II Phase Two Group Five which is set to take place on Wednesday.

Hamilton won through Group Four in the opening phase behind James Wilson but had to pull out of the remainder of the PDC Autumn Series recently due to injury and it seems he is still not back to 100%.

'The Hammer' took to Twitter and said that while he feels towards his best again, it's too soon to play a full day of darts and his focus will be on returning at the European Tour in Riesa at the end of the month as well as the PDC Winter Series.

Alan Tabern will replace him as the next highest ranked player in the standings not to qualify for the second phase.

"Unfortunately I've had to withdraw from tomorrow's 2nd round of PDC Home Tour II. My hand is feeling ok, but I feel it's too soon to take part in a full day of match darts. I don't want to strain my hand and set myself back further," he wrote on Twitter.

"I have to ensure that I give myself the best possible opportunity to be fully fit for European Tour Four at the end of October and the Winter Series in November."
