Danny Noppert fell at the semi-final stage of the 2023 European Championship. 'The Freeze' went down 11-8 against Peter Wright in the last four.
Noppert, however, had looked good for the win when he took an 8-5 lead. "It would have been nice to reach the final, unfortunately it just didn't work out," the 33-year-old Dutchman told Viaplay.
"After the last break he recovered wonderfully, then you see how much class he has. I also let myself down and that's pretty sour."
"Especially in the last legs, the scoring ability was lacking from myself," Noppert continued. "And then in the end you have to conclude that his victory is justified."
