Number 1 seed Deta Hedman is the first lady through to the semi finals of the Women's draw at Lakeside. The English woman, who has never won the title despite dominating the women's game, overcame Sharon Prins 2-0 in a game that wont live for very long in the memory of those that witnessed it.

Every single leg went against the throw until the deciding leg in set two. Hedman first to finally be able to close out a leg in which she threw first in. That coming by way of a Bull finish.
The rest of the game was littered with counting errors which didn't help the finishing stats on either side. A highlight for Prins to takeaway being her 138 finish in set 2. The highest of the Ladies competition so far.
The Dutchlady couldn't do enough to force the match into a final set though, condemning her to a 6 loss from 7 clashes against Hedman this season. Hedman now marches on in search of he first Lakeside title. She awaits the winner of Lisa Ashton vs Fallon Sherrock.
