Henderson 'devastated' after second round loss to Clayton

John Henderson bowed out of the 2020/21 PDC World Darts Championship after losing out to Jonny Clayton.

Henderson mounted a comeback of sorts but was unable to complete the feat against 'The Ferret' and he admitted afterwards that he was devastated to be heading out.

“I’m gutted if I’m being honest. I was lucky to get through the first game. I thought I played terrible in the first game but probably better tonight," said Henderson to Darts World.

“I don’t know what to say, it’s hard to put into words the way I feel at the moment. I’m devastated because I’m out.

“Jonny did what he needed to do. I wasn’t expecting to be here so everything’s a bonus. Next year I’ll hopefully be better. I missed doubles again, I keep saying it. I keep practising but I keep missing them.

“It’s frustrating but we’re all in the same boat. I’m not the only one to lose this week. I’ll look back at the things I’ve done wrong. I’ll assess it and I’ll get back to where I want to be in 2021.

“Now we’ll look into how we are going to get home. We had planned to stay here if I went through, now we want to be home for Christmas now.”
