Henderson gives honest assessment after scrappy win over Kantele: "That was god awful tonight'

John Henderson is through to the second round at the 2020/21 PDC World Darts Championship after a scrappy victory over Marko Kantele.

Henderson set up a tie with Jonny Clayton after hitting six 180's and a 91 average en route to a 3-2 win but he was disappointed with his display giving a frank and honest assessment on it.

"I never make things easy. I remember playing him two or three years ago and I won it quite comfortably. I knew he'd be a better player but no disrespect to Marko, that was god awful tonight from both of us," said Henderson post match.

"I'm the winner of a terrible game and I hate saying that. But a win's a win. I'd rather win with a 70 average than lose with a 105 average so I'll take every win in this place as a bonus."

"I've been playing the Home Tour, the last couple of Home Tours have been good for me. I've come in here buzzing and this is the best I've felt coming in here. Once again I hate saying it but that is the worst I've played in a first round game."
