The top averages are confirmed from the Final Day of PDC UK Q-School in what realistically could be Mervyn King's final darts as a PDC player hitting a high average.
He leads the way with 100.40. He pinned it in his opening win over Lee Williams before he defeated Ryan Palmer, Keenan Thomas and then lost to Bradley Brooks as his campaign came to an end.
Jim Long finished second with 100.07 against Tom Sykes in a pivotal win to stop the latter getting a Tour Card. He also hit 98 the round before to see off Andy Boulton so very much providing the goods when he needed too against quality opposition. Same can be said for his 98.02 against John Brown.
Others to claim spots in the top 12 included Scott Campbell who was an impressive performer but in only fits and starts evidenced by his three points. He hit 98.59 behind John O'Shea and Kai Fan Leung who hit 98.88 and 98.75.
While Tom Sykes as mentioned hit 98.19 ahead of Cam Crabtree one of only a few on this last to actually get a Tour Card. Beau Greaves concludes the list. She hit 95.94 to finish in the 12th spot.
Others included John Brown and Brandon Weening as Q-School finished on Sunday with the full contingent of 128 Tour Card holders now set.
As per Dart Connect, Weening was top of the performances with an average all tournament of 97.29 ahead of Boulton with 93.84 and Jim Long who won outright with 93.12.
Bradley Brooks finished fourth after a dazzling few days with 92.70. It was only Boulton, Long and Brooks that got Tour Cards though out of those on the leaderboard top 10 with Greg Ritchie the next in 12th showing it is about taking chances over hitting massive averages as it can only be sustained over one game sometimes.
