After five nights of play in the 2024
Premier League Darts,
Luke Littler is currently in joint second place, six points off clear leader, Michael van Gerwen.
Colin Lloyd, a losing finalist in the Premier League Darts back in 2005, has been impressed by the performance of Littler, who is making his debut in this competition this year. Although he's yet to take a weekly win, Littler has reached the semi-finals three times, played one final and lost once in the quarter-finals.
"He's only 17 years old but he's so in control of his emotions," Lloyd said to Sky Sports. "I don't think he's putting the pressure on himself, he just turns up and puts in fantastic performances."
"After all the damage he's done, he's now using a new set of darts!" Lloyd continues. "It's not doing him any harm, he's still pulling out shots from everywhere."
Lloyd therefore sees him easily advancing to the finals night at the end of the Premier League Darts season. "Yes it would be nice for him to win a night, he'd love that. But I think because he's so consistent he doesn't have to. He'll still be there or thereabouts because of his consistency."
