A LEG AWAY! Wayne clearly isn't a fan of Rob not going for the bull there 😂 'Voltage' continues his charge to the semi-finals, leading Price 5-0! 📺 bit.ly/PLD24Live #PLDarts
On Night 5 of the 2024 Premier League Darts, Rob Cross went down 6-2 in the final against Nathan Aspinall.
Earlier in the night however, a remarkable moment played out in Cross' quarter-final match against Gerwyn Price. Cross quickly gained a 4-0 lead averaging around 110 and had a chance to reel in the big fish, with Price way back on 216.
Cross started with a pair of treble 20s, as Mardle boomed "Do not split, do not split!" over commentary. But then, to the disbelief of Hawaii 501, Cross did not throw for the bull, instead setting up a double for his return to the board. Mardle responded furiously: "Well I have no time for that whatsoever. 6,000 people pay good money Rob and you don't care."
It turned out to be the right choice, however, as Cross won the leg to take a 5-0 lead. Price still won the next leg, but Cross eventually won 6-1.
In the Premier League Darts standings, Cross is in joint second place after five nights of play, six points behind overall leader Michael van Gerwen. Price, on the other hand, is languishing in second bottom with just five points.
