Heta-Lewis, Cross-Rydz and Smith-Vandenbogaerde among Last 16 ties at Players Championship 15

The Last 16 line-up is set at Players Championship 15 in Wigan as the board finals conclude and we reach the business end.
Multiple big names are still involved including Damon Heta who ended the run of Raymond van Barneveld reeling off five legs in a row from 3-0 down before surviving match darts to win 6-5. He now faces another multiple World Champion in Adrian Lewis.
Rob Cross faces Callan Rydz and yesterday's champion, Michael Smith will take on Mario Vandenbogaerde. Other ties include at the top of the draw Steve West - Alan Soutar and Martijn Kleermaker - Josh Rock.
With Florian Hempel - Jamie Hughes, Dirk van Duijvenbode - Robert Owen and Ryan Joyce - Stephen Bunting the other ties.

He had a lucky run at Blackpool and even luckier at the World Championship and is still living off that. - I'm a big Huybretchs fan from when he broke through at the euros in the early days, but his action has gone. So jerky and inconsistent. Looking at where he'll be in the rankings, hopefully he can treat the new year as a new start, relax, enjoy it and push on without the pressure of defending lots of ££BandB12-12-2025
