Heta produces deadly doubling display to down Rydz, Aspinall and Bunting also through at European Darts Matchplay

Damon Heta reached the third round of the European Darts Matchplay in Trier by defeating Callan Rydz 6-4 in a deadly doubling display from the recent World Cup of Darts champion.

Rydz was the talk of the opening day with his incredible 125 bull bull effort but it was the doubling of 'The Heat' that proved the difference maker this time. He averaged 91 in the end but hit 75% on the doubles without having to produce any ton plus efforts with 6/8 in all compared to 4/11 from his opponent.

Nathan Aspinall has also reached the latter stage in Germany at the expense of Jermaine Wattimena in a 6-2 victory. He pounced in the sixth leg when five darts were spurned by 'Machine Gun' with a 59 checkout to make it 4-2 before hitting a 17-darter and 68 finish to seal it.

Stephen Bunting is also through. He eliminated Sebastian Bialecki 6-5 by finishing 110 in the last leg after his Polish opponent missed a match dart on double 20.
