Heta thrashes Lewis in clinical display to reach Third Round at PDC World Darts Championship

Damon Heta is through to the third round after Christmas at the PDC World Darts Championship after outplaying Adrian Lewis in a 3-0 straight sets win dispelling prior doubts about 'The Heat'.

Heta produced a 96 average, four 180's, 56% on the doubles with two ton-plus finishes in 110 and 102 as he laid down a marker in one of the best displays so far at the Alexandra Palace.

Heta started superbly pinning double 14 for a break and followed it up on double 20. Heta missed 117 on double 20 and Lewis hit double five for 2-1. But Heta hit double 10 for the set.

A 102 checkout saw Heta hold and lead in the second set. Lewis responded with a 77 checkout for 1-1-1. Heta continued his clinical surge though with a 110 checkout to go towards 2-0 and he did so pinning double 18 to make it 6/10 on the outer ring.

A 66 checkout saw Heta break to begin set three. He missed a 70 checkout for a hold but returned for double eight to go one away. A 46 checkout saw Lewis hold but Heta hit double 18 to move through.
