The German Darts Championship 2025 is the final stop on the European Tour calendar from Friday, Oct. 17 to Sunday, Oct. 19. The tournament will be held at the Halle 39 in Hildesheim.
This event belongs to the true classics within the PDC European Tour. Ever since the inaugural year of the Euro Tour in 2012, the German Darts Championship has been on the calendar. Back then, the first edition was played in Berlin, with none other than Phil Taylor as the opening winner. A year later, the event moved to the now iconic Halle 39 in Hildesheim, where it has descended annually ever since.

Over the years, the tournament has produced an impressive list of champions. In addition to Taylor, Dave Chisnall (2013), Gary Anderson (2014), Michael van Gerwen (2015, 2018, 2022), Alan Norris (2016), Peter Wright (2017, 2024), Daryl Gurney (2019), Devon Petersen (2020) and Ricardo Pietreczko (2023), among others, managed to add their names to the trophy.
Once again this year, Hildesheim can look forward to a field full of big names, although reigning world champion Luke Littler is missing as well as Luke Humphries, Michael van Gerwen. But Nathan Aspinall, Rob Cross, Gerwyn Price, Stephen Bunting and Peter Wright are all on the list of participants.
The field of participants at the German Darts Championship 2025 consists of 48 players. The top-16 of the world rankings are invited, as well as the sixteen best Pro Tour players at the time of the cut-off. Completing the lineup are sixteen winners from the various qualifying tournaments.
The German Darts Championship gets underway on Friday, Oct. 17, with the opening round, in which the Pro Tour players will take on sixteen qualifiers who managed to qualify through the various preliminary rounds. Starting Saturday, the seeded players will also mingle in the field of battle, when the second round is scheduled.
The final day on Sunday promises spectacle as always. In the afternoon, the third round will be played, followed in the evening by the decisive stage with the quarter-finals, semi-finals and grand final as the final event of the weekend.
This tournament is crucial in the qualifying race for the European Championship. After the German Darts Championship, the 32 best players on the European Tour Order of Merit may compete in the final tournament in Dortmund, which takes place from Oct. 23 to 26.
